LCD Soundsystem artwork


This is what LCD Soundsystem new (last?) album will look like. The font reminds me slightly of mid-nineties Warp artwork.

Holy Fuck tour dates announced

Holy Fuck, smashing Canadian electro-acoustic improv troupe, are to tour the UK in May. They shall call at:

Optimo make 52nd Fabric mix

Heroes Optimo (JD Twitch and Jonnie Wilkes) have put together Fabric 52 CD; it's out the 10th May. It looks amazing, of course – every time they put together a CD it makes it into the list of best mixes of all time, ever – get hold of 'Sleepwalk', 'In Order To Edit' and 'Walkabout' for proof. JD and Jonnie have been running the inspirational Sunday night Optimo (Espacio) at the Sub Club in Glasgow, a residency that comes to an end on the 25th April. Charlotte Gainsbourg announces first UK shows

Superlative French singer Charlotte Gainsbourg is playing in the UK on the 22 June, at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. A 12" is out the month before featuring remixes, interestingly, from XXXchange and Matthew Dear.

Off Modern Journal launch tonight


Off Modern, excellent South London promoters, curators and writers are launching a journal tonight at the ICA, alongside the ICA's luanch of their quarterly journal, Institute. There are 40 free ones for the first through the door, and DJs Ronojoy Dam, Nasty McQuaid and more. It's a beautiful thing.

Eglo releases vinyl copies of Fatima's 'Mindtravelin' EP

Eglo, the London-based label set up by Alex Nuts (Rinse RM) and Sam Shepherd (Floating Points), brings us Fatima's new EP 'Mindtravelin' on vinyl.

The EP's four tracks, featuring production from Funkineven, Dam Funk and Veebeeo, have already received plaudits from the likes of Kode 9, Sinden, D Bridge and Gilles Peterson.

Egyptian Hip Hop and Radiant Dragon are doing a remix swap. Here's Radiant Dragon's reworking of EHH's 'Wild Human Child' (DOWNLOAD IT HERE). It's lovely.

Video: Hudson Mohawke 'Joy Fantastic'



This video is what I imagine lifting the lid on HudMo's brain is like: a magical fantasy island adventure. Directed, produced and animated by Konx-Om-Pax, it stars Olivier Daysoul who'll be accompanying Hudson on his live tour this April. Including the only London date: our Dummy birthday party on Friday April 30th.

Needless to say we are very excited.

Flying Lotus' third album 'Cosmogramma' is out 3 May. The first track to be streamed off it - Computer Face//Pure Being - can be heard over at Warp.net.

It's incredibly melodic but at the same time slightly disorientating. You'll love it.

Real Gold open bar

Real Gold, utopian London collective, have opened a hangout in Dalston.

It's called the Alibi, it's at 91 Kingsland Road. It serves till the wee small ones and is really nice inside. Line-up details to follow.
